Revelation

Revelation 22 (ESV)...

16
I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star. 17 The Spirit and the Bride say, Come. And let the one who hears say, Come. And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. 18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

20 He who testifies to these things says, Surely I am coming soon. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

---

I don't know what it is about these verses, but when I read them last night, I literally cried. I guess that they proved to me even more God's love, and that He is coming back, and that His Word is true. I love the Bible. =)

Aaaand... I wrote a bunch of music today. Not a whole song, yet, though.

And I just finished reading Uncle Tom's Cabin. Next to the Bible, it is my favorite book. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. Even though it's not a true story (though parts are true), it really helped me to see how the Bible applies to everything. That past sentence really doesn't make any sense unless you read the book... lol. So READ IT!

Wesley, that is amazing! You are so sensitive to God's word and that is awesome :) Revelation is one of my favorite books in the Bible.

I wish I could write music that easily, lol!

I read Uncle Toms Cabin last year and it was one of the only books in school that I actually enjoyed reading....

Revelation is cool, simply put. =)

Haha, I don't know where the music comes from. Above, I guess. =P

I forget... you play guitar, right?

I've read Uncle Tom's Cabin a few times. While it's not my favorite book, I did like the application, and Uncle Tom himself was great. I love the part when he sings, "When I Can Read My Title Clear." Aside from laughing because of an inside joke with my friends about that song, tears came to my eyes because he was so faithful.

Anyway. Great post - Revelation always gives me this feeling of mystery and holiness.

Yeah, when I read Revelation it's like, 'wow--this is all gonna happen someday.' I wonder if I'm going to be alive to see it all!

I'm sure :) Do you write both the lyrics and the actual music? If so, you should post the lyrics sometime for us!

Yeah, I play guitar and piano. But I'm not amazing at either *sighs*

Marissa - I think that would be a pretty interesting joke... lol.

Adam - Sorry you didn't like it. The writing style seemed pretty normal to me.

Emily - I do write a little bit of lyrics. No rhyme or anything. lol I'm pretty bad at writing them.

Well, there aren't that many "amazing" instrumentalists, so being "decent" or "good" is good enough. =)

I can normally come up with lyrics, but never music...

lol, well, that's true. I've only been playing guitar for 6 months, so yeah...not even decent yet =P

you should post a clip of one of your songs sometime, Wes... they're pretty amazing...

Wesley said...

Maybe I will post a clip... because they are virtual instruments, though, you have to hear the whole thing to appreciate it.

Emily said...

I agree, you should ;)
