As I have a difficult time truly expressing myself verbally, writing has given me that ability to minister to others. Just remember to let God work through your writing, Wesley. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374377915237597161.post-64641649898632064892009-01-16T08:26:00.000-05:002009-01-16T08:26:00.000-05:00Great idea, Wesley. I can actually see how it could potentially be more effective in sharing the gospel. Very cool.

Yes, I love verses like this! I'm so glad God gives us these promises. Very glad it helped :)Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09183579033314610859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374377915237597161.post-69238273044549646232009-01-15T22:15:00.000-05:002009-01-15T22:15:00.000-05:00Yes, Marissa. That was part of what I was thinking...Yes, Marissa. That was part of what I was thinking. I really do want to reach out to people around me... and y'all are definitely right about the college classes. Especially since I'm taking an English class, I will be able to witness to my classmates through my writing. (we will read some of our papers in class and discuss them in small groups)

That is definitely the kind of verse I was looking for, Emily. It helps concrete the concept in my mind. I will keep coming back to that verse when I start to despair. Thanks. =)Wesleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11344558742678833392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374377915237597161.post-83977899331654508142009-01-15T18:16:00.000-05:002009-01-15T18:16:00.000-05:00Good thoughts Marissa! And again, Wesley, very thou...Good thoughts Marissa!

And again, Wesley, very thought provoking. I can't say that I've had that same concern, but I definitely understand your worries.

I have thought of how Christians could loose their freedom...in fact we already are. Society is slowly pushing God away. Things could get a lot worse for us in that regard. But also things like our homeschooling rights could be taken away. That isn't directly towards Christians, but it still would effect us.

I do believe that the gospel is becoming less shared in our country and a lot of what is shared seems to be either not biblically correct or watered down. This makes me really sad.

I think, like Marissa said, that gives us an even better reason to share the gospel. And she's right, now that you're taking college classes, that will be a good opportunity to share the gospel.

Remember, the Bible also tells us that God will not give us something we can not handle and He will not forsake us.

2 Corinthians 4:7-10 says:
7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

I would encourage you to read all of 2 Corinthians 4....I could post the whole thing here, but that would be veryyyyy long.

I'll definitely be praying for you too. I hope this has encouraged you/helped a little :)Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09183579033314610859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374377915237597161.post-67880971362336896582009-01-15T17:12:00.000-05:002009-01-15T17:12:00.000-05:00I think if you feel this way, you should act on it...I think if you feel this way, you should act on it. Actively witness every day - even to random people in Wal-Mart. Take a step of faith and live every day for Christ.

Now that you're taking college classes, you have an excellent opportunity to talk to your classmates about Christ. I love C. S. Lewis's words; he says, "It's so much easier to pray for a bore than to go and see him." But going and seeing him will give us opportunities to shine Christ's light.

I don't know if this is what you were looking for, but it's just what first came to mind. I'll be praying for your mindset in this. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
